Ham Hiker Award
The aim of the Award is to recognize amateur radio stations activating or hunting
GMA or SOTA summits.
All HAMs and SWLs can apply for the Award based on contacts as specified below.
Conditions
The Award is issued on four levels:
- Chaser HF 100/10, 250/25, 500/50, and 1000/100 for conducting QSOs on HF with summit activators regardless of the country or region of summits.
The level designation shows the required number of QSOs and regions to be contacted.
E.g. for HF 100/10 100 QSOs from 10 regions are needed.
Contacts are valid after 1st May 2015.
- Chaser VHF 20, 30, 50, 100 for conducting QSOs on VHF with summit activators regardless of the country or region of summits.
The level designation shows the required number of QSOs.
E.g. for VHF 20 20 QSOs are needed.
Contacts are valid after 1st May 2015.
- Active 30/3, 60/4, 100/5, 150/6, 200/7 for activating summits in multiple regions.
The level designation shows the required number of summits and regions to be activated.
E.g. for Active 30/3 30 activated summits from 3 different regions are needed.
Contacts are valid after 1st May 2015.
- Magyar Vándor (in English: "Hungarian trekker/roamer"): for activating summits in all Hungarian regions, minimum 5 summits per region.
Contacts are valid after 1st May 2005.
Other
- QSOs on all amateur bands and in all modes count for the Award, except contacts through terrestrial repeaters.
- All QSOs and activations must comply with the rules of the respective program.
- Both GMA and SOTA chases and activations count for the Award. QSOs must be uploaded into the respective database.
- Application must contain the name and address of the applicant, log extract including reference data of activated/contacted summits.
- It is possible to ask for a special sticker like only 7MHz CW QRP, VHF, SSB, CW, FM, DIGI, only SOTA, etc.
- Cost of the Award is euro 7 or USD $7
- The Award is also available in electronic form (PDF), in this case it is charge free.
